Preferred application method for TruOil

Greetings,

I've done 3 finishes on Warmoth bodies using TruOil, and was previously able to be to a pretty smooth and glossy finish using T-Shirt rags and mixing with 50% Naptha or Mineral Spirits on the last few coats.

Currently working on a project where I'm not able to pull that off again. I get to the last couple of coats and I'm getting streaks and what not in the finish....frustrating.

Curious as to what is your preferred application method for TruOil, preferably with the goal of getting to a gloss finish? I'm wondering if there are better application methods that I'm missing.

Hmm, sounds like you're doing it right. I use cut pieces of blue shop towel for applicators, but t-shirt should work too. Maybe just make sure that you're using very little oil; just a couple drops to cover the whole body for the later/final applications

I use lint-free cloths that are typically used in clean environment manufacturing. I don't know what kind of material it is.

Is your tru oil old ?
