I know I've asked this before, but I can't find the post...and I'm stoopid, so would someone please be kind enough to walk me through getting the GOM banner onto my personal page (or whatever THAT is
called)? I'm really hopeless at this stuff!

If you've already saved it to your computer (and kept the .png filetype!) then uploaded it to your photo-hosting site of prefernce (which looks like you used photobuckets last time).
Upload it, then you need the source image, try right clicking and "view image" or something similar (your browser may vary).
then insert it to your signature here via the usual way with the [ IMG] website.com/picture.png [/ IMG]

edit: Additionally, if you're looking for the new banner from Double A? it's http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/Themes/Curve_Black_Gray_Light/images/GuitarofMonth.png and you need to grab it before next months contest because I believe it uses the same link, just the pic gets swapped.

I presumed to just add it, if that's ok. If you wanted to replace the previous award, I can change it or you can by simply eliminating the the first image tag. The source looks like this, if you're interested...

Code:
[IMG]http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg511/pinesnake/February2013GOTM_zps89e29cbe.png[/IMG][IMG]http://i.imgur.com/IeU2Wzc.png[/IMG]

I just print in on my printer, then tape it on the bottom right corner of my monitor.

Now it shows up no matter what website I go to... :eek:ccasion14:

Wow! Thanks Kevin!! Could you 'do' this one also? Please, please?

Ok, I've done it, but I have to say I'm philosophically opposed to oversized signatures. A signature is supposed to be just that - a unique identifier at the end of a document that tags it as yours. When the signature starts to get too busy or larger than the message it's tagging, it's probably trying to tell you that what you really want is a web page.

I've seen forums where it's gotten out of hand to the point where you practically get carpal tunnel syndrome scrolling past hundreds of lines of signatures for maybe a few dozen lines of message. Women's blogs are often that way. Kinda like their keychains, where they have 3 dozen charms, fobs, rings, tools, etc. and maybe 4 keys. Put 'em in their purse and swing it at you, it'll knock you out without leaving a mark :laughing7:

But, there's no rule against it here, so I'll play enabler  :icon_biggrin:

Sorry, didn't mean to do your job. I started to just write a how-to on placing images in sigs, but it got long-winded and I thought I'd just save him the trouble.

Could've sworn I already wrote these instructions but I can't find 'em, either.

If I may...

If you'd like to link that image to the build thread of the guitar, which I wish more people would do so curious souls like myself could easily check them out, just wrap those image tags in a url tag (the url being that of the build thread itself), like so:

Code:
[url=http://unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=25857.0][IMG]http://i.imgur.com/IeU2Wzc.png[/IMG][/url]

I turn signatures off due to the clutter it creates.

Hey, I'd love it if the images were smaller, like Fat Pete's, but you don't really think I've got a clue
how to make that happen, do ya? ''carpal tunnel syndrome''?!? Really? That's pretty funny!
