Something unusual, a meeting of generations...

Outstanding! What an amazing moment!

Isn't it. And one has to remember, at this time the Andrews were in their fifties and one had cancer, the Supremes were in their twenties and at the top of their game.

It can’t just be me. Someone else has this song going through their head constantly too, right?

Something made me think of Billy today. I met him when I was working at a small music store in southern Il. A long time member of the Grand Ol' Opry, and a million seller in the late fifties. Also a gentleman and a magnificent guitar picker. Billy and I caught many a channel cat in Rend Lake near his house. He died a while back, I miss him. :sad1:

Here is Billy on Hee Haw;

. And here at his house, he's over 80 and blind but still cranking it out. He died a few months after this was made.

.Then I found this and had to include it.

Just came across these guys, had never heard of them before. The Tielman Brothers.

Not for everyone, but if you like Frank Zappa's melodic soloing, this guy's got the phrasing, tone, and note choice down :

According to Spotify, I listen to these guys way too much, but... Hell, I love Electronic as much as I love Rock, so any music that marries the two is an instant win in my book.

In light of recent events ... this is for Kim Jong-on (yes a replay, but I couldn't resist)

I have been spending most of my listening time to WFMU--a free-form listener supported radio station from jersey City.
https://wfmu.org/

What i like about it is they archive just about every show, the DJs and other personalities are mostly unapologetic weirdos with refined, albeit quite personal tastes. Plus no commercials/adds, etc.
If you are a fan of both kinds of music (good and bad), this station has something for you.

A lot of us who grew up digging hard rock may have thought of Tom Jones as possibly this lame mainstream act.  It may be that we were wrong.  Here he is on the Tom Jones Show in 1969 performing with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and just BURNING.

I love his tone. Kinda like the Ventures and the Chantays discover distortion while playing Duane Eddy songs. :hello2: :headbang:
