Pardone for the broken record.. but they cannot, do not, and will not slip, at least not in the gearing. The locking mechanism might not grab the string as it should... that could happen, but the gearing cannot slip. Slack points... if you tuned UP adequately, you'd not have the issue with any tuners.
Folks get into the habit of detuning just a little when the note is already too sharp, then tuning back up and saying that must be ok. In fact, you should detune a decent amount, so that when you do tune up, you've eliminated all points of slack.
