Interesting project, similar to  Chinery's Blue guitars, but for charity.

Very neat looking Telecaster.

This is the news story that talks about how this got started

And here is the auction site, in case anyone wants to bid!

I like it on the SG and the LP. The PRS isn't too bad. That's about it though. I don't think it looks terrible on any of them, but on those it definitely looks pretty decent.

Could have used a different shade on the inner burst though! Reminds me of Tums or Pepto Bismol.

The teardrop style burst isn't working for me on the Fenders.

Teardrop bursts don't work on anything. It's a plain out UGLY way to finish a guitar.

If you want to feel good, buy yourself a guitar you actually want, AND donate some money to the organization.

...and i'm assuming these atrocities are for breast cancer research.

The auction is to raise funds for Uveitis, an eye disease.  The reason for the guitars all being pink is that it is Twisted Sister's guitarist Jay Jay French who is heading up the charity.

Albeit not a pink burst, but pink non the less, I wish I'd had bought one of these years ago when I had the chance. They go for about 10 grand now...

You don't work on anything and are just plain ugly.   :laughing3:

Which makes me an expert to judge...

I think a Black to very deep red teardrop burst would look pretty good,
These, not so much,
and i agree id rather give money to a charity rather then spend alot on a guitar from which the charity wont get most of it from  ???

Unfortunately, that's true of most "charities" as well. Those and fund raisers exist mainly to benefit the suppliers, organizers and administrators, not the purported recipients of everyone's largesse. The recipients would be a lot better off if people helped them directly. But, that usually takes too much work, so it's easier to just throw money at somebody who says they'll do the helping for you. Once they pull out their cut, of course.

Yeah i get that, my dads church(which he just played organ at, wasnt religious) had a charity event, give a goat,
and it was something like £27 to get a family in a country  a goat, needless to say i knew back then they wouldnt probably,
But i just had a car boot sale of all of my old stuff, and i think i raised quite a bit, enough for at least one £27 donation, possibly two,
Guilty to say thats one of the only charity donations ive ever done  :-\

That's interesting. Out of curiosity, I went looking to find what it would cost for a goat here in the US. First site I looked at turned out to be a "charitable" site that bought goats for families in third-world countries, and they wanted $120 (72 pounds). Then, in the small print at the bottom of the page, they tell you they aren't actually going to give anyone a goat.
Gifts made through this catalog represent a gift to the entire mission. To help the most number of families move toward self-reliance, Heifer does not use its limited resources to track gift animals from donation to distribution. We use your gifts where they can do the most good by pooling them with the gifts of others to help transform entire communities. And, because you are helping Heifer fight hunger and poverty, your gift is tax deductible.
So, in other words, just give us $120, and we'll decide what to do with it, with no accounting to you.

If you just want to buy a goat for yourself around here, you're looking at between $220 and $800.

Well - fellas - I don't know the quality of folks you play with but if you show up at the barn with a pink telecaster you better make damn sure you brought a pile of scorchy licks with you (GUITAR licks) or the boys will be funnin' you till 2020. :toothy12:

And I agree about the "teardrop burst", I first saw it on low-range Gibson 125's or something*, and it just looks like the painter was too lazy to follow the shape of the body.
"Hey Abner - jes' squirt a big yellow blob thar by the bridge, squirt the rest brown an' we can go a-drinkin'...." :occasion14:

*(Which are now uniformly worth $4000 and up, even tho they play like shite, look like two shites and sound even worse...)

Wouldn't surprise me if the one i donated to did the same exact thing,
infact that might be the same place, but 72 seems alot more than i remember, and 27 sticks in my mind lol,
But anyways im not bothered about having a goat.....

I WANT A DEGU!!!!!!!!!

Donate a Degu anyone?  :laughing7: :laughing7:
