*Pics added* LSR Roller Nut + Floyd

I swear I’m the guy that ends up causing certain configurations to disappear from the website.  I always end up finding combinations that don’t work lol.

Well, to be fair, there are only about a bajillion variables involved with each having an effect on another, so it's a wonder any parts manufacturer can maintain a viable business doing what they do. As soon as you think you've got a standard dimension/construction/material/process/behavior defined, some major manufacturer throws a hand grenade at it to screw everybody up in an effort to protect their exclusivity.

On the plus side, we're a bunch of crafty little devils, so they can all go scratch  :laughing7:

And for some reason, I thought I had not seen roller nuts in 1 5/8" or in black and gold.

But here are some.

You're right! Excellent! I've added them to my bookmarks. Have to give one of those a try.

Let us know what you think when you do. I think Logrinn used an ABM bridge back and was very happy with the quality.

Everything I've seen in reference to ABM parts has been quite positive. Problem is, for some reason, their products aren't distributed here in the US. I don't mind ordering from overseas, but I do mind the shipping charges and time involved.

I think we're just spoiled in that regard, living here in the US, we've come to expect two day shipping on almost everything!!

...And for free or damn close to it  :laughing7:

You're right, though. I feel sorry for out overseas brethren, not only for the shipping charges, but for all the other abuses heaped on them when they buy something from somebody other than under the table from their next door neighbor.

I have a friend over there with a HUGE CD collection, and it's often cheaper to buy them in Europe and have them shipped here, then me ship them back. We'll wait until there's about 25-50 CDs, box 'em up, and send 'em on their way. Costs $30 or so instead of the cumulative several hundred it would cost otherwise.

Hi Cagey, if you need any help getting parts from European suppliers PM me and if you want to arrange something I could get them and send them on to you.

I can confirm as of this weekend, that the newer Gotoh 1996T Floyd does NOT directly retrofit its outdated 1995 counterpart.
the bass side of the tremolo reveals an additional 1/8" to the side of the base between it and the edge of the wall, and the treble side needs to have about 1/32" shaved from the wall to keep the treble side of the base plate from rubbing up against it.

I would not normally have done this type of retro job, but considering that the tremolo that I replaced is 22+ years old and the knife edges were now getting to the point that the unit would not return to zero & function properly due to a chip worn into the treble side knife edge.

Finding old stock of this unit was not fruitful, so I had to update with the current offering.

I got the treble side opened up with my cheap Dremel copy from Harbor Freight.
I used one of the small ceramic bits after using a 300 grit rotary & went really slow to remove very little material over a long period of time.
I ended up with enough clearance on the bottom side (treble) of the base plate to fit a business card between the plate & the routing wall.
I used the ceramic bit to smooth it out to remove the grooves of the 300 grit bit.
I also had to give care to the corner in front of the arm collar, as it is slightly more squared that the 1995 unit was.
Now, I have no binding whatsoever, but I'm still a bit miffed at the 1/8" of reveal that exists on the base plate on the bass side between the plate & the original routing, but I'm leaving it as it is now as I do not want to remove any more material to make it look to have the same reveal on both sides.

She floats fully, returning to zero as the contact point between the knife edge & the pivot point on the mounting stud have been cleaned & lubed.

I used my calipers to measure the distance of the front of each saddle to the edge of the pickup side of the base plate, and I'll be dad-gummed if my intonation didn't come out spot on right at first tuner check!

I've never in my life had that happen before.  I have always had to make some kind of adjustment on all of the saddles.  I only did this to get me in the ballpark, but I did not expect the intonation to be accurate after firing it up at first go!
