Hi!
I was wondering if anyone could please tell me the best way of mounting pickups in a rear-routed Strat body? I have three single-coil sized Seymour Duncan pickups and a Rear-routed body from Warmoth.

Someone please help me! I'd be greatful if someone could reply fairly quickly to this post, as I was hoping to get it done today...:)

Cheers,
Øystein

I like to use these...

I see, thank you!
I thought perhaps there was a way to mount them directly in the pickup routs, but I understand that the rings would be much easier. Thanks for your help!

You'll have to a "direct mount" if not using rings.

1. Drill out the mounting holes in the pickups. Your screws need to be able to pass freely through them with no resistance.
2. Put the pickups in the cavities so you can mark and drill the pilot holes for the pickups mounting screws.  Careful of the depth so you don't come out the back of the body!!!!
3. Use springs, foam, washers, wood shims, etc. around the screws (or under the pickups depending on which you choose) to get it to the right height.
4. Enjoy.

Thanks!
I think I'll go for the rngs. I need to order some cabling and some capacitors anyway, so I can order them then. But thanks for the instructions. Now I know how to do it for later.

Cheers,
Øystein
