Too late to start playing loud through my amps now, so soundcheck will have to wait until tomorrow...

Thanks!

I'm loving the fatback neck. Can't wait to put it through my Boogies...  :guitarplayer2:

This looks very elegant. The Pau Ferro and Ebony look along with the Pau ferro top looks great.

The idea with the pickups was to try something new [ie not Seymour Duncans, DiMarzio or EMG as I have in the past]. I have a Hot Rail Stack in a Fender Tele and it got me thinking to find pickups that appear similar to the fretboard [which I'd always planned on being black ebony], so it's a 'continuation' of sorts from the neck. The Bardens were a perfect choice - both in looks and materials.

Going for a 'less is more' approach and keeping things simple with clean lines by not spoiling a nice piece of Pau Ferro with a scratch plate was the plan. I also love wood grain finishes, so kept as much wood on show as possible, with fewest controls possible... I also dislike pickup surrounds and looking at this finished axe, I'm glad - they wouldn't look right at all in my mind.

New day, time to play!

That's a really nice looking guitar. Good call keeping it as simple and clean as possible.

I'm guessing that sheen - especially on the mahogany - isn't how it came out of the box. Is it just polished or have you fine-sanded it?

Thanks!

It's been fine sanded then had several coats of Tru-oil. I've not polished it, as I prefer a matte finish - which is exactly how it ended up!

I'm sure some areas will polish up over time - forearm contact and where it rests on my leg, but I'm ok with that.
