OT: Transparent Wood

Posting in OT instead of general because I don't believe this is scalable to neck sized wood. But we can dream:

Yeah, I didn't watch the video, but replacing half of the wood chemicals with acrylic/epoxy/whatever ... is gonna be heavy for sure.
 
While it may be a novelty now, it brings us one step closer to Transparent Aluminum, which everybody knows is required when transporting whales through time on a starship. So theres that.

The problem with both transparent wood and aluminum is they don't hold paint well, which makes them difficult to see.

Push this through to its logical conclusion and you wind up with an air guitar. So what's all the fuss about?
 
You can get a clear guitar if you want one badly.

Kidding aside, this is cool because the wood is still the  primary structure. Yet it retains some wood marking.
