I know it's highly personal but I purchased some P-90 Zebrawood pickup covers for my Warmoth in progress and taking a long time build. I have Gibson guitar of the Week Zebrawood guitars and thought this would be a great way to tie them all in together since I've become somewhat of a Zebrawood fanatic. Weird I know. OK a Good friend saw them and said no way. Go with the classic. I don't think I will go with the classic covers but I want to know if people think this just looks stupid. I think it is cool. I'll get some matching knobs as well.

Thanks. Oh and forgive the cat, she was purring and I didn't want to get her out of the way.

Maybe if the headstock has a zebra veneer. Leave the body natural and stain the zebra wood darker you might could pull it off.

i really like the zebrawood covers... there's just enough other exotic wood on that build to pull it off. either way it'll look great though

the wood ones look better than the black  -  I can't believe it but that's what I think.

Black or Creme plastic covers... the top is too busy as it is without adding more busy-ness with the grain covers.

I think the zebra's look much better, they make it look like a more sophisticated and expensive build than the cheap black ones.

Yeah, black covers look much better. And cats are always fine! Is it a russian blue?

Good eye, I been told a Russian Blue and also a grey abyssinian. I think the former. I got her and her sister from the local shelter (who don't know the breed) after they were found at their owner's house who had died in her house 3 weeks before, undiscovered. Best cats I have ever had.

Thanks everyone for all of the comments. I know more said to use the stock black covers but I think staining them to match the overall color scheme (I sound like I'm knowledgable) is the way I want to go as DMRACO, Kaoskadosk, and pabloman suggested. I really want a real one of a kind custom look, even if a bit bizarre. As soon as it is finished I'll post some photos and a demo video. It'll have the graph tech ghost system and the 2 Kinman P-90Hxs in there. Can't wait but it's going damn slow.

There's a third option that might fit better, judging by the eyes - they're Korats. Russian blues have very distinctly deep green eyes that almost look unnatural, which are also set farther apart.

Another breed that looks similar is the British Shorthair, but they have unusually striking orange eyes.

I don't know why anyone would mistake those for Abyssinians. To be fair, they both have 4 legs, 2 ears, 2 eyes, etc. but past that...

black... or better, get some contrasting wood covers, Rosewood or Wenge!

Also, I wish the 7 string as 6 string was a standard option!!!

Ditto, I like that body shape, but have no need for a 7...
