Hello out there, so I snapped the side truss rod adjusting screw in my Warmoth neck off. Any pointers on what to do, I guess I could use it as a baseball bat.
Thanks in advance, Victor
I took some needle nostrils and removed the snapped off screw, removed the neck and tightened the big allen bolt until the neck had a little backboe. Reinstalled neck and strung it up and all is well! What a relief!!! Thanks for the info!
I guess all that side screw does is put some pressure on the main truss rod mechanic as you tighten it to pull the neck a little straighter. I read up on it and the main truss rod does most of the work and the side is for small adjustments due to weather or whatever. The big adjustment screw is really easy to tighten unlike the side one. Since I like my neck relatively straight I know what to do now. I guess if you want slight relief and just want to use that screw or you've broken yours off like me tighten it until you get a little back now then back off until it's straight then when you put the strings on and tune up to pitch maybe it'll be just right!
