That's basically a 36x12.  Ampeg had a 36x10 bass rig that everybody was wetting their pants over a while back.  That Crate and the Ampeg looked neat, but in the Ampeg's case is was 2 of their SVT heads biamped together, so while it was over 4 times the size, it only had twice the watts.  Watts is watts and ohms is ohms, doesn't matter how many speakers it has.  What's the ohm value and how many watts is it?  There's your volume.

Very true, that's why most 50 or 60 wat amps are as loud as 100 watters...Doubling the wattage only increases volume ever so slightly. Also Crate and Ampeg are sister company's, both owned by St. Louis music company, probably where this monster evolved from. A few years back Crate made a 300 watt all tube amp, and it was ear bleedingly loud...This one is 600 watts..."I can't push it any fasterrrrr capt'n, I neeed more powa"..... :toothy12:
