Old W Strat, but the "real" neck finally arrived!

Some of you may remember this as my first Warmoth build, which it was.  However, the neck was a "temp" until I could get the neck I really wanted for it.

For new people, this is an Alder Strat body with a wild maple top finished in cherry burst.  The pups are Seymour's rail series:  Hot Rails bridge, Vintage Rails middle, and Cool Rails neck.  Wiring is standard Strat fare with RS guitarworks pots and cap.  Jack is Planet Waves.  There is an OFR, and it is recessed.

The previous "version" of this guitar, if you will, was a maple neck with an ebony fingerboard, phenolic dots, and a 13 deg. angled Strat headstock.

This is its real neck.  Quartersawn maple with the QS maple fingerboard, gold frets, and abalone inlays. The tuners are Schaller Locking Minis.

Nice finish Doc.....

Question is........What are you going to do with the 'temporary' neck?

It is sitting in the closet rocking the dust as we speak.  :icon_biggrin:

Seriously Jim, I might use it for another build, or I might E-bay it off, I don't know yet.

Hey Doc

Great looking neck!  :headbang:You go for satin finish? Now that Ive been playing my unfinished rosewood neck for 2 months it's difficult playing on my strat with it's maple/maple gloss neck...moving around on it and bends are hindered. :sad1:

Thanks, man.  It is a satin finish.  It almost feels like and unfinished neck.

Looks better now, but I'll be sincere, Brent my friend... I don't like that finish... But I bet that people who like it feel like guitar porno at it best!  :hello2:
