Well got some time to get re-acquainted with old spalty today. Taking her back down to the wood, the super glue just wasn't working out right like I'd planned. The front is still good, it came out fantabulous, but the back and sides are getting a makeover... :laughing7:

Wow, this one took a back seat for awhile.  Nice to see you finally got the ball rolling again though. :headbang:

Hey, let's be seeing a full frontal nudity shot of Old Spalty!
Looks great from the rear cavity peep hole, but surly this ain't no butta face?
Let the Spalty shine on...

Yes Dan, she has been on the back burner for awhile. I think mostly cause I was getting frustrated with the finish not working out. But the fire's back on now.... :icon_biggrin:

Beautiful! All wood should be oil treated  :icon_thumright:

I will say fine pieces are deserving of a complementary finish - often that finish may be oil, BUT......that's a purdy project  :glasses10:

Hey Doug,
Yea, this is me, Bart...  I just changed my avatar name to match my name on the other forums that I belong to.

That is one purdy spalted tele ya got workin' there.  I have always loved spalted tops.  I'm anxious to see what ya do with her...

Nice! Is that a "Spalt King" Body? Floyd Rose as well??? COOL!
Nope, not from spalt king, I bought the top in raw form from a place in Canada called Frasier Valley Fine Woods. Then sent it to a guitar maker who specializes in tele's, to make the body for me.. :icon_biggrin:

That is a matching trem cover, right?
yip, you are correct Max it has a matching mahogany trem cover and control cavity cover. But I'm not using either of them, I made a control cavity cover from some spalt pieces I got on ebay... :headbang1:

The neck is a wenge/ziricote combo rev Jackson style headstock with matching spalted veneer..The pups I have are an Air Norton and an Air Zone, I also have a spare D-Activator I might use instead of the Norton... :dontknow:
