Ok, i just need to say something here

What the hell? I could grab hundreds of those 50s capacitors from my uni if I wanted too, they aren't worth anything as they're terrible quality, and why would you spend $300 on a wiring harness that could be built for about $2 at most?

The only people who would buy from somewhere like that are either those obsessed with keeping a guitar as original as possible or those who think that 50s stuff somehow equals good tone, in other words morons.

even at the prices on Warmoth/CTS pots and stuff a Les Paul wiring harness would only cost you about $30 for pots and and a switch.

Yea, so everytime something hits your amp you have an exact imprint of it where it hit, awesome!

This site is a joke.

Funny thing is, that gold chassis has been priced at $50K for around 10 years now.

Sorry....I don't buy the selling point that a capacitor, using old technology and materials, is any better than what has been made over the last 40 years.

I mean, the world has become increasingly reliant upon these little 50c buggers being very reliable and consistent in manufacture, thanx to the explosion of digital circuitry and AD/DA applications.

Surely these days, the manufacturers have to produce these caps to a better tolerance level and standard of production than what was capable in the past? :icon_scratch:

If I am wrong in my assessment, please let me know. With my bad ears, I couldn't hear the difference between a Radio Shack cap and a 'genuine Orange drop' cap anyways.....

Yeah I agree the prices are ridiculous but their amps do put to shame about 98% of the other manufacturers out there. Their headphones are great too. Kind of surprised at the fair price for the headphones. Gold chasis? Just dumb.

They don't even say how the wiring harness is set up... is it 50s wiring?  What are the caps?  Why am I paying you so much??

I assume the pots are their $50 dollar pots.  Why they're $50 I have no idea.  The caps look like Jensens, to me.  They sell them at RS.

There are a large number of people who believe that "you get what you pay for..." Mostly, they're not here at fishial-Warmoth. You keep expecting these morons to go broke, but some of must have so much money to start with they can't spend it as fast as the interest replaces it. I am so lucky as to be so unburdened. :hello2:

Alessandro actually used to have some pretty nice $1200 amps, but I guess they were underpriced - double it, and the morons come a-sharkin'. :occasion14:

"You get what you pay for" is unidirectional. If it's dirt cheap, it's likely to be dirt - period. The opposite doesn't hold true at all. Above a certain point it stops getting better, matter of fact is that it probably starts getting worse.

those are'nt current prices though per "This page was last modified: March 23, 2006" :laughing7:

and that $1,500 guitar cable, it comes with a lifetime warranty right? The one that says you'll "hand" deliver me a replacement and a cold beer?

Case of the Emperor's New Clothes if you ask me.... or maybe just plain ol' "Don't piss down my back and tell me its rainin'!"
