Hmmm - as a loudspeaker designer and as a guy who's spent a fair bit of time in the studio listening on NS10's, I think I would leave them alone. Yes, the NS10's only value is used to mimic car speakers and boom boxes to make sure your mix is not crap when it gets out into the world. But I would not mess with it. It's a crappy speaker, but it's a known crappy speaker
