To all of the North TX people, or people who will be visiting North TX,

My band will be playing (2) 1.5 hour sets on Friday at the WinStar Rodeo Roadhouse Stage outside the Ft. Worth Colliseum during the Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.  Weather is supposed to be rainy and anywhere between the 50s and 30s.  It is opening weekend, and apparently a badweather magnet, but doesn't effect the turnout, so I'm told.  We'll be doing about 7 original tunes and the rest covers.

I'll post pics next week if available by then.  If anyone is interested or wants more details, reply or PM me.

I don't think I can make it to FW on Fri, but as soon as you are playing this side of Lewisville, Carrollton, I will definetly come and see you!

Well, the show was a raging sucess!  We played for an hour and half from 5:45 to 7:15, then Joe Ely and his band played from 9 to 11, then we played again from 11:30 to 1am.  I was unfamiliar with Joe Ely, which is my fault considering the genre of music we play.  Of course I knew his songs, just didn't know that's who did them.  He was really down to Earth and he stuck around for the first 5 songs of our 2nd set.  Really cool, becasuse he was done playing and his band had left.  He was off stage and we could see him smiling and bobbing his head, and he said a few kind words to our guitar player between songs.  There was also a great Delta Blues player before us named Aaron Burton.  I'll post links below if anyone's interesting in hearing these guys.  Alot of our crowd in the first set was there to get a good seat for Joe Ely.  Our 2nd set after his, some of them stuck around.  No doubt, we're nobody and nobody was there to see us, but the booking agent paid us more than agreed upon because he was surprised that we retained alot of the headliner's crowd!  We sold 40 CDs!

Also, this was one of the best, most professional venues we'd ever played.  It's temporary and set up for the rodeo by a promotions group that specializes in this sort of thing.  Green room, band member passes with lanyards, and roadies that were actually familiar with setting up bands.  Other than plugging in cables, I didn't set up my rig.  Usually I don't let anybody touch it!  The sound guy even let me have input into how I wanted to sound in the mains.

I love to read stories like these!  Everything goes better than expected, and a good time is had by all.  BIG congrats  :icon_thumright:

New Dallas show that maybe Marko and/or Luke could make.  Luke, this is practically in your backyard.

Sorry for the short notice but it just got booked.  NSL or National Sports Lounge on Lower Greenville.  It's next to Snuffer's, and I think it used to be Red Jacket.  Showtime 9:30 to 1:30 if interested.  Don't know about cover.
