Non-recessed Floyd Rose?

I saw a body on the showcase, which was described as having a "Floyd w/ Ang Pock." I don't have the money to buy it right now, but it made me curious.  Does this mean that the body was routed with an angled neck pocket so that you can use a non-recessed floyd rose?  If so, could you use the floyd that Warmoth sells, or would you have to use a special one?

Any chance of using a Kahler bridge with it?

I'm not sure how much the angled pocket has to do with the floyd route, but I know some people like the angled neck pocket because it makes the strings higher off of the body... purely picking ergonomical preference as far as that's concerned. The floyd will have to be higher... so probably not as much whammy potential... and I've never seen a Khaler with a floyd footprint... but I'm not much of a Khaler guy so I don't know...

Yeah, I didn't really think so, I was just throwing it out there in case it was possible.  For some reason, floyds seem like a pain, but it's probably not so bad once you get used to it.

This is the body:

It's looks sweet, especially for the price it's at now ($235.)

Hi.
I own a Swamp Ash Warmoth body originally done for a classic strat design (no recessed floyd designed), and I a result, I assume the body is not N.A.P.
I added a floyd flat settled on the body and effectivelly, the string are very far for the neck.
How can I modify the neck pocket to make the guitar going fine :
- What Angle value (I heard about 1,5 DEG)?
- What thickness do I have to suppress from the neck pocket?

regards

Floyd Rose bridges are so thick that if you don't recess them into the body, your action will be ridiculously high. Thus, angled neck pockets are often required for non-recessed bridge routes.

Wow, hard to believe that 1) I've been on this forum for so long, and 2) that I've learned so much in that time.

I believe, at the time I wrote that original post in 2009, I'd heard some rock star talking about how Kahler bridges were just so awesome, and so I was really wanting a Kahler bridge.

I'd never really used a Floyd Rose, and thought they were really fussy (and now that I've used one, I still think they are, but not the bridge as much as the nut) they do tend to stay in tune, though.

Hey, I really like some of Kahler's bridges... I've loved the ones I've actually played - they're a perfectly fine alternative to a Floyd.

I just think they're not very popular as they can require some extensive wood removal for installation, and are overly complex compared
to a FR and its variants.

I mean, damn, check out these routing templates: http://www.wammiworld.com/Templates.php
