No Floyd Rose option?

I’m not seeing an option to have a Floyd Rose nut slot cut and holes drilled when buying a neck...what gives?

Floyd Rose Nut Prep option is available on Warmoth Modern Construction necks only.

Yup...Modern necks only for Floyd shelves.

Same with scallops, binding, and a few other options.

More out of curiosity than anything else, is there some kind of structural difference between a Modern and say Vintage/Modern that would force this?

I do find this limiting as I'd never get a Modern straight back due to the inability to be used with a heel cut for a Fender Deluxe/Elite type heel.  Too bad.  Hopefully, going down the road, there will be more "cool" options for non Modern necks.

Yep, mainly the thickness of the fretboard. On Modern necks it is thicker allowing for binding and scallops.

Problem with a Floyd nut on a Vintage/Modern neck has to do with how the truss rod approaches the nut area. On necks with a traditional single truss rod, the rod is arced when "at rest", and is angling upwards toward the fretboard at each end. That combined with the dimensions of our V/M and Vintage necks makes putting a Floyd nut there problematic. I know other manufacturers do it (Fender, et al), but it necessitates a lot of wood being removed at the nut area, so we choose not to do that.
