No 720 mod option for the Split Jazzmaster?

To my understanding the 720 mod is available on rear routed bodies to compensate for the lack of a Pickguard taking up space where the neck meets the body. The Split Jazzmaster is rear routed for the pickups and a Pickguard doesn’t go into that area. It seems the 720 mod isn’t an option for the neck pocket. If you have a 22 fret neck will it overhang with a gap there?
