Newbie - Hi from the UK

Hi there - a newbie to this forum.  I came across this forum as I was looking for someone to build or for me to find a Tele that I could turn into a metal Tele - sort of a wolf in sheep clothing.

I was looking for a Tele with a fast slim neck, jumbo ss frets and a nice compound radius. A Tele that I could put some seriously hot pickups in. I thought about 'hacking' a US Tele and swaping out the pups, but this did not deal with my need for a 'fast' slim neck.

So as I write I'm building up my Tele spec.  I hope to learn lots from this site.

Oh man I'll take you up on that one!  I'm okay building, but need to learn about the electronics and ultimately how to properly set.

Sounds like a nice plan.  John 5 (Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie) is an avid tele collector and can rock the metal sound just fine.

Oh, and just a reminder: Warmoth doesn't assemble anything, they make the parts.

You came to the right place. If it's not already here, all you have to do is ask, and Warmoth is the place to get exactly what you want. The wolf in sheep's clothing sounds like a great custom neckplate from another member here you will soon come across... (Yeah 6, I'm talkin' to you). Welcome ZeeW  :icon_thumright:

If ever there was a guitarist that defined the term oxymoron, it would be John5. You looks at him and listen to his stuf he did with Manson and zombie. And you just don't see "Telecaster""Chicken Pickin'", but he's the most Tele-shreddin-ist, chikin' pickin-ist rocker around..

But ZeeW, if you want a fast slim neck, get a wenge/ziricote or canary/ziricote combo with the Wizard contour...

Yeah I coach too but only juniors.  I follow the Nations and as much Rugby as possible.

I'm in London. I can definitely help with the electronics side of it; that's the part I've got the most experience with. The other guys here are way better placed to give you advice on actually putting the wood together.
