Hey, newbie to this site here.  I've been playing for 24 years, but am just now making the plunge on a custom.  I've ordered an alder showcase body with a wild maple veneer top and black cherry burst finish.  The neck ordered is standard Strat fare with maple fingerboard and abalone dots; the headstock will the slanted, however.  All hardware will be gold, including the frets and the original Floyd Rose.  The pups will be Seymour hot rails in the bridge position, vintage rails in the middle, and cool rails in the neck slot.  I've also went with RS guitarworks CTS pots, cap and switch.

The body and other parts were ordered separately from the neck.  Once the body arrives I'll post some pics.  The neck is 8 to 10 weeks out.  Once the final guitar is assembled, then I'll post final pics.

This is to be the start of a Completed Warmoth Project.  I hope this is OK with the moderators.

Sounds like a nice build. welcome to wonderland mate. :icon_thumright:

So while we're all anxiously awaiting some pictures... :sad1: join in the fun. :hello2:

BTW..........what's a moderator? :icon_scratch:

Welcome to the site - oh I see what you mean. This thread belongs in the "work in progress" section. I'm sure it'll get moved over there soon, no biggie. You can post a new thread here when it's all finished and you show us your lovely pictures.

Checked my e-mail this morning and found this:

"This message was sent to you at the request of Warmoth Guitar Products, Inc. to notify you that the package information below has been transmitted to UPS. The package(s) may not have actually been placed with UPS for shipment. To verify when and if the shipment is tendered to UPS and its actual transit status, click on the tracking link below or contact Warmoth Guitar Products, Inc. directly."

Date of arrival:  5/7/08!

I should have some pics to put up next week!

Box one has arrived in perfect condition.  The body is just as cool as it looked in the showcase photos, and the gold hardware accentuates the wild maple perfectly.  I've got a long day at work today, so I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

I love your sig, Jim.  I haven't even completed one Warmoth and I already have 4 planned!

I've only done one.  Though I have about 15 in my head.

I've got my strat.
Then there's the Bengal burst quilt top LP (with Bareknuckle pups)
Dont forget the thinline (possibly Korina) tele with P90's
I'll probably need a Soloist shredder.
might do a cheeky explorer
etc
etc
etc
etc

My current list is:
A bengal burst swamp ash Jaguar with a Bigsby, SD P-Rails and some crazy ass wiering
A green guitar (my wife wanted my first one to be green, so I will build a green one at some point, though thats all got so far)
Spalted maple tele or strat with recessed tom
Then for the wild and crazy, a strat with 3 p90s (or this could just be the green guitar)

Chuck you need a sparkly green Jazzmaster with a pearloid PG and 3 P90s and a hardtail bridge, or your life will NOT be complete!!! Then you need to sell it to me cheap, or MY life will not be complete!

Jim, you're worse than I am, but I guess you've been doing it longer.   :glasses10:

Anyway, this thread to be continued under "Just Out of the Box!"    :guitarplayer2:
