I was just wondering a couple of days ago what had happened with this. Cool that Wilkinson helped you out.

A couple of bloopers which shows it is real-time and easily done in case you want to add some of those oops callout things... around 1:35 - 1:37 Gotoh reached out to me... and around 3:48 Gotoh includes a slipstick with the tremolo... rather than Wilkinson.

Perhaps if it starts to go a little out after a lot of downward motion, give the bar a slight tug upwards it should help it go back towards being in tune.

Thanks for the heads up. I put closed-caption text there to clarify, but it only shows up for people with CC turned on. You can only use YouTube "cards" if you have a website to link to, and Wilky doesn't, AFAIK.

Hi Aaron, no worries. Perhaps you could use Wilkinson's Reverb shop https://reverb.com/shop/wilkinson-direct which is where folks can go for the 1302 when in stock.

That feeling when you've been waiting over two months for a bridge to be restocked, told it'll be another 6 weeks, then your favorite YouTube personality is sent one.

... Good video though. Glad you got to try out the proper version for your guitar. Can't wait to get one eventually so I can do my build. Have everything aside from the bridge.

I think the real take-away here is that apparently I am a bona-fide YouTube personality! LOL. I can't wait to tell my wife and kids! I'm sure they will have a new-found respect for me.

And if it makes you feel any better, it's not like they sent it to me last week. I've been sitting on it for quite a while now, waiting for permission from the new website to think about something else for 5 minutes.

Haha yeah I wasn't sure how to describe you. "Entertaining and musical guy who is the face of a company that I like" seemed a bit too much. I even initially put quotes around "personality" as I think it's a funny term, but opted to remove them as to avoid any misunderstanding of sarcasm.

Couldn't even blame them if they did send it do you recently. As company they must realize the value in working with other people and brands.

So the real question is... are you keeping it in that guitar?

We will keep the standard one here for testing and prototyping, but we do have a compact version we could probably sell for cheap!

I sold a Ludwig Speed King pedal because it didn't squeak. But I don't really need it in a guitar.

Waiting on the full sized version myself, but that compact version would go well on a Jackson or Charvel dinky sized body. I happen to have one of each, both with floyds though.

This demo is what initially sold me on the wilkinson bridge.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZwXNf5hUqs

How much going out of tune is the bridge anyway? I always figured he was about 93% nut and 7% bridge.

I have one here sitting in a box waiting now for quite some time for me to get it fitted. It is not made by Gotoh and the only branding on it is Wilkinson. It certainly is good quality it is made in Korea for Wilkinson.

Honestly, I think it's the whole ecosystem along the length of the string; trem block, trem plate, saddle, nut, trees, and tuners. Each one is a point of friction, though as you say some points matter more than others. With this new Wilky you've got it down to one point: the nut. The NFT Floyd does the same thing, as well as a few others I've seen.

I still believe nothing works as a good as a fully locking system, but they coms with drawbacks of their own.

Pick the solution with the drawbacks you can tolerate the best.
