Terrific, all my strats are now also ruined!! WOWAnd just for you Spud, here's the song that Jeff actually said after recording it: I don't know if I could actually play it live.

The thing is he is playing a signature guitar made to his specs on that one. I'm fairly confident that if there were such a place where I could order strat style parts to build whatever I wanted, I could play that tooAnd just for you Spud, here's the song that Jeff actually said after recording it: I don't know if I could actually play it live.
Keep in mind, Jeff wasn't a guitarist, he was an artist. A guitar was only his tool. I would go to bat saying he was the best.Terrific, all my strats are now also ruined!! WOW
Ya as would IKeep in mind, Jeff wasn't a guitarist, he was an artist. A guitar was only his tool. I would go to bat saying he was the best.
No reason you can't build one. You won't find that nut, but hell the LSR is close. The thing is he is playing a signature guitar made to his specs on that one. I'm fairly confident that if there were such a place where I could order strat style parts to build whatever I wanted, I could play that too
I was trying to be humorous.........................we are on the parts capitol Warmoth board! I will never be able to play like that.No reason you can't build one. You won't find that nut, but hell the LSR is close.
That Tele in the first video was originally an Esquire and converted. Nothing CS there.
Exhibit 2 in your honor. Gilmour is so associated with the Strat, but one of my favorite solos from him is on a Tele:I don't have an opinion on a Tele, because it is not a serious instrument, and therefore won't be considered here.
You gotta admit though, it kinda looks like the sharp edges of the telly ripped Jeffs shirt apart!!!?? Tele not serious??
I present exhibit 1 Your Honor.

Or the Oxblood. Doesn’t matter. He makes a guitar do things us mortals cannot.But...Beck's best playing was on a Strat or an LP.

He posted this, and it’s one of my fav solos.
Don’t look to the original on Atom Heart Mother; it was anemic and lame with Roger.
It got this Blu-ray/Cd set the year it came out. Played the CD as I was taking a drive Christmas Day (licking my wounds as I had lost my job).
This came on and it was WHOA: there’s no Strat in the world that sounds like that.
It has to be a Tele. I went and watched the video, sure enough.
Except it was not originally a Tele. Another Esquire convert.
You are so right about the live version compared to AHM recording. The entire Live in Gdansk performance is just phenomenal. His tone, both vocally and the guitar is just so in the zone in that night. It was also the last performance of Echoes with Wright, and Gilmour said he would never play it live again after Wright passed. I hope the audience knew what they were witnessing that night.Spud put Hag back on the Christmas list and take me off.
