I'd add that 22 frets should have been the right choice from the beginning. Not having any body contouring on a Tele was wrong, too. And, he used to use slot-head screws for much of the guitar, which should be nowhere near and instrument.

I do love the volume knob placement, though. I won't buy a guitar with the knob in any other place.

Body contours? Bah humbug. If you can play a dreadnought acoustic you shouldn’t struggle with an itty bitty Tele.

Slot heads - yes, but honestly Philips heads suck too. Modern guitars should switch to hex.

Vol knob - I don’t play Strats so I don’t have an opinion. On the Tele, you can just bend the switch so the switch tip is angled out of the way.

Wow....like any rational person, I never have a beef with people's opinions that run contrary to mine. But some of those comments on YouTube today have been simply awful. Really viscous ad hominems aimed at me. I had to delete a few.

I just can't understand how people can allow themselves to become so spiteful over things that matter so little.

The internet is truly a strange place.

There does seem to be a cult of vintage enthusiasts eager to apologize for and defend every choice Leo ever made. To each their own.

Maybe some of the nastiness could have been avoided with a quick run-down of many things Leo got right? You did acknowledge this very clearly, but maybe some folks would have been more satisfied if you'd provided even a quick list of many of Leo's brilliant innovations?

Perhaps that's an idea for a follow-up video? Not an apology, but to highlight some of the features Leo pioneered and that Fender (and Warmoth) continue to offer...

You forgot headstock strap button on vintage fender basses... less usefull actually than the Tug Bar, and no aestethic valus as the ashtray

I am with you that hex screws would be better. Magnets, even better. But I hate playing dreds, though. My acoustic is a super-contoured carbon fiber Emerald. I am not putting up with a sharp edge in the ribs, ever. I don't have an opinion on a Tele, because it is not a serious instrument, and therefore won't be considered here.

Go ahead.....tell me how wrong I am. I can handle it.

No joke on those tone knobs.
All strats I built had a master volume, and a tone on the bridge pickup only, and then,only if it were a Single Coil.
Since I use EMG’s, it’s really easy, and nowadays, I only do an HSS with a 58 (P90) voicing in the bridge because it is far more balanced than a regular single coil.

Well I pulled out a big game rifle for that one. Most guitarists inspire me.
Jeff does the opposite, I'm going to start a bonfire as there is NO WAY I can ever achieve that.

What make it worst, playing guitar (actually to him its just a tool), is only a past time thing from his youth. He only played when recording or playing live. His main passion was cars.
