New video: Introducing the "D" neck profile!

Spudneck that’s what we’d call it. We’ll need a potato punch brand.😂

There are many things in motion. Get those GAS pedals ready!
I am gonna go out on a limb here and offer to drive down to Puyallup and personally rub my face on a series of necks free of charge if that would help sales.

Your welcome,
Spud

Cool new profile. Congrats, Warmoth.

I myself will be sticking to the fatback profile. Love that baseball bat!

(I started out on classical guitar and use the classical hand positioning, with the thumb on the back of the neck. Fat necks work best for me.)

I am bumping this thread because I am having trouble finding anyone's personal experience with the new Warmoth D profile.

Has anyone on this forum tried this Warmoth D profile yet?

If so do you like it?

If not, which profile do you prefer?

Personally I love the fatback and boatneck profiles and generally love fat necks whereas thin necks cramp my hands.

I have been curious about this new Warmoth D profile but don't feel like taking the plunge without hearing about other people's experience with it.

They are slimmer than the fatback and boat neck profiles. I, personally, would not describe them as thin, but so you can compare the profiles and measurements.

Yes, I have looked at that page countless times and have read the specs and looked at the diagrams. What I am looking for is feedback from actual users. It is strange that I cannot find any anecdotal content online regarding this profile and it has been out for over a year. I thought that if I asked here some of the Warmoth fans who have tried it would chime in.

Hey! I've seen your posts on TGP too. I think the lack of opinions - even after a year - is due to a lot of other people just like you, waiting for someone else to be the "early adopter". I have actually played one (I'm sure you've seen the video), and I can tell you it's not a profile I would choose for myself. BUT...I like smaller, C-shaped profiles. It's too big for my tastes, and I also don't like the flatness on the back. I don't like V shapes either, but that doesn't keep tons of people from liking the Clapton profile.

It's all just so dang personal, and the only way to really know if you'll like it is to try one. Sort of like swapping pickups in that way.

That is kind of the way retail works in this post-internet age: you gotta "buy to try". As I think about it, this has been true of every piece of gear I've purchased in the last five years, from amps to pedals to software to guitars. There is no longer any place I can go to try anything I'm interested in buying. For example, I had to buy the Friedman PT20 to try it. Didn't like it and returned it.

So I guess what I'm saying is I share your frustration, which doesn't really help.

But maybe now you don't feel so alone. ❤️‍🩹

Thanks Aaron! I appreciate your response. That is really helpful.

And I did see your video, and watch a lot of your warmoth videos. The body and neck tonewood videos I have watched dozens of times using different speakers and headphones and it was really helpful.

My #1 and #2 guitars are warmoth partscasters that I put together using my preferred specs and it does take experience to know what specs are preferred but also great videos like the ones you make for Warmoth and also anecdotal reports of users has been really helpful too to figure out where to start and what to try.

I guess I might just have to try the Warmoth D at some point and then I can report back! In the meantime I am hoping that some other users will be vocal.

Yes, I saw that but posted the page in case it was of help.
Probably I read just about most posts on the forum. I don't recall, so far, someone mentioning getting a D profile.

In most posts about neck profile recommendations, I always tend to say in the end it is subjective. So I echo that.
