New video: all 12 Tele-adjacent bodies explained!

Tele was the right guitar for the gig.

It's based on a 62, So rosewood fretboard, early 60s style pups. Have a 4 way Oak Grigsby switch in it for pups in series (which I used for 1/3 of the songs). Flipped plate.

Flipped plate?? *pics or it didnt happen... :)

No pics that I can post from my phone. I just prefer the Vol knob up and the switch towards the rear. Also has the slanted switch slot.

OK first, that Shell Pink tele is absolutely

Second, thanks a ton for that Philadelphia Luthier link, I just bought two of those control plates.

Strong opinion time:

Tele with the forearm/tum contours is a thousand million times better. Should be standard.
Bigsby is the only acceptable trem on a tele.
Hybrid tele is a complete abomination.
Hybrid strat is not for me, but I actually kinda like the burst one without the pickguard.
Jazzcasters look cool AF. I have one curing right now, be ready in a week.

I'd like to have a wood-mounted telecaster bridge pickup, but I don't want any form of Telecaster bridge. I'd prefer to order either a Strat or Tele body with the Hipshot hardtail bridge. Unfortunately the Warmoth builder does not allow the combination of Hipshot hardtail bridge with a Telecaster bridge pickup. I can't see any reason not to allow it for a custom order.

I'd bet good money they'd do it for you, given your knowledge of the luthier, I'd also imagine that "they" would probably discourage it for screamin deals reasons

TEEEEEEELECAAAAAASTER!!

I can’t see any reason not to own a router? However, with warmoth’s prices, they really should acommodate you.

Peptobismalcaster FTW!

Yes, they are great. I'll never use anything else again.

I actually agree with most of your strong opinions. I HATE the look of a Tele w/ Strat parts. But I LOVE the look of a Strat w/ Tele parts. Here is my Hybrid Strat. It's a killer guitar that has become one of my favorites:

Call in and we can do that for you, no problem.

Many of the custom builder rules are in place to protect customers from making "wrong" choices. For example, we don't allow black side dots or inlays on dark fretboards. Nevertheless, we do a handful of those every year for customers who call in and specifically request them.

The Tele-bridge-rout/bridge-pickup-rout relationship has long been something we've limited options on in order to keep customers from ordering weird combos that won't work. For example, it used to be that if you chose a bridge pickup rout that was a humbucker, P90, Strat, or TV Jones you could not get a Vintage Tele bridge rout. Then along came the Tele half-bridge and suddenly that rule seemed weird, so we changed it.

Up to this point we've prevented getting a flat-mount bridge rout along with a Tele bridge pickup rout, because it was our feeling that the number of customers who would potentially get it wrong (aka realize after purchasing that they had no easy way to mount their Tele bridge pickup, then return the body) outnumbered those like yourself who knew what they were doing and had the skills/knowledge/tools to make it work.

But we can easily rout for a Hipshot Hardtail with a Tele bridge pickup if you call in.

Thanks for the reply. The reason does make good sense.

I'm giving it a lot of thought and I'm encourged by your comment.

I was seriously considering this route for my next build. But since I have a thing for carved tops, I'm doing a carved top tele.

Nice color!20211009_144118.jpg
I love the Tele headstock on strats too!
