New Tele-Paul

A freind of mine told me one day that he wants a new guitar: a Telecaster but with the feel of a Les Paul, so we start to talk abou it. Mahogany body, maple 24 3/4 set neck (this is not so Gibsonesque but...), ebony fingerboard with 12" radius, strings thru body... To cut the price a little, we have used some pickups he already have: a set of singles coming from an early Squire and a Dimarzio Super Distortion. I also have at home a Black Ice cap, so we decided to put one master vol and one master tone, and leave the center pot to the overdrive. It must be sunburst finished, but my first atempts were wrong, so it ended red. This is the result.

I forget to mention that the fingerboard dots are 4mm abalone. This is the headstock, front and back.

The neck / body union and the back. The pickguard it's (obiusly) Strat inspired, I like to mix things. Opinions?

Two pics in sunburst before clear coat. There are a lot of spits and the burst was uneven, so I must sand down and go for the red dye.

Yes, painter's tape. When the tape is removed you must do a Little sanding on the edges to remove the Little "step" between the neck and the fingerboard
