Hello, welcome aboard!

You can click on reply and upload the pic direct from your computer on the box below the text-box

or you need to upload the pics on a website like flickr, photobucket, etc and then put the link between [ img] and [ /img] (without the space separing the img...)

Very nice, what are your plans for it then?  :icon_biggrin:

Just idea but when upload pictures that way, possibly do a version smaller so when click on them they arent massive, but big enough maybe

Awesome!  So, what are the specs?  Is that a Swamp Ash body and Flame Maple neck?

Details, man!

Finish plan, hardware, pickups, pickguard, bridge...

It is an extra light piece of swamp ash and a flamed maple neck.  How do I upload smaller pictures?  I'm still deciding how to finish it.  I was thinking about a two tone sunburst possibly.  For pickups I will probably put in Fender Custom Shop 69's.  Any suggestions?

This might be a silly question, but what do the numbers written on the body mean?  It says 3. something.  Also, regarding a finish, how hard is it to spray a two tone sunburst (reranch)?  The first thing I need to do now is use sealer on the body, correct?

Wow.  I didn't know it would be that light!! Here are some more pictures.  I'll try to resize them.  I'm still not sure how to do that though.  Aren't I supposed to put something on the neck in order to get the flame to pop more?  I plan on putting Guitar Reranch Fender amber on it, and then finishing it in a thin coat of nitrocellulose.  Does this sound like a good idea?

If you have any naptha, a bit of that on the wood will show what it will look like once finished with clear.

Yes some amber dye will make that flame pop. I recently had a flame neck finished by a friend who does this for a living. He dyed it first then used slightly tinted nitro to top it off. It turned out great! If there is a skunk stripe on the back I would suggest using filler on just that after the dye.

Here is the on I have..

The first page has the before pictures.

Good luck with this project. Great fun to do it yourself. I'm sure you will enjoy this guitar twice as much!

Is the first step in my project putting grain filler on the swamp ash body?  Does any kind of filler work, or is there one specifically for guitars?

Can rubbing alcohol do the same thing?

Pure, denatured alcohol would be ok, but rubbing alcohol has water in it so it'll raise the grain. If you plan on doing some sanding on the thing, then it doesn't matter.

Just put a video up of my stratocaster parts from Warmoth. Tell me what you think!
