New neck with a hole in the heel

I just received my very first neck from Warmoth a one piece flame maple vintage modern neck.  The flame is great, 59 roundback, all I could hope for except there's a hole in the heel.  Someone please tell me why this is here and if they have one in their vintage modern maple neck?

i think Warmoth puts those holes on there to hold it in the cnc during construction. :hello2:
