Greetings all. Figured I'd join up since I am now an official Warmoth addict.  :icon_biggrin:
This is my second Warmoth but it's the first one I got to finish and assemble myself.
I always wanted a Star so I snagged the swamp ash Star body that was sitting in the showcase. Also snagged a showcase neck. It started life as a lefty neck but they we kind enough to put side marker dots on the "right" side for me. And I figured I'd post it in the "Work in Progress" section since I still plan on getting a real Floyd for it eventually. The holidays have forced me to cut a corner or 2 for now. lol.

Anyway, on to the good stuff.
What started life as this:

Now looks like this:

Some specs:
Swamp ash body.
Birdseye maple neck and board.
6100 frets.
Motor City Pickups "Nuke" humbucker.
1 volume and 1 momentary switch.

Enjoy!

That's a pretty nice start there.  What FR bridge is on it now?

Welcome to the board!  :occasion14:

Thanks!
It's just some licensed Floyd knock-off. Not sure of the brand. It was all of $50 so I figured I'd give it a try. Seems to actually be working pretty good.

I love it, I think you did a great job on the finnish.  Is the momentary switch an "off" switch?  dumb question I guess, what else could it be        And where did you find a floyd knock off for $50.00

Thank you!

The floyd I found on ebay. I think it was actually around $54 or something. Not bad for brand new.

Oh, and the momentary switch just kills the sound for as long as I hold it down. I'm a huge Buckethead fan and you can hear it a lot in his music. Makes for a nice effect.

Not quite the same shade as Barney....  I like it!~  Sort of a Pepto-Bismol "after the Drambuie" shade there.  Very interesting.  Very tasty.  Thats sure to turn heads.  Which way... I cant say. :icon_biggrin:

lol! Thanks. Yeah, when I was getting the color mixed, the girl at the counter came over, opened the can and said..."Oops. I think I mixed it a little too pink." I just said "PERFECT! It's going on a very "80s" guitar anyway."

Just my two cents.   If it works, then hold off on the OFR until this one ceases to do the job for you.  Otherwise, that looks like pretty done.  :headbang:

Yeah. You're right. I'm not real big on using the trem. I just really like the double locking aspect of it, for the most part. Well, and the looks.  :icon_biggrin:
I figure if I happen to come across a good deal on a used black OFR in the future, I'll snag it. But if not, no big deal.

way cool dude! Good luck getting that thing in that case. :) :laughing11:

Look at this guy... he stained the inside of the spring cavity the same as the top. Cool.

yeah I saw that...Very close attention to detail.
This guitar is about as different from my style as possible, but...I'm...drawn to it...somehow!
Pretty killer!  :headbang:

Haha. Thanks, guys. What can I say... I am a huge fan of the 80s! :occasion14: And yeah, working on finding a case for this thing. The one in the pics is just there so I had something to lay it on. Still working on finding a proper case for this thing. :icon_biggrin:
