You're putting a Tele neck in a Strat pocket?

It will fit a standard 4-bolt strat neck pocket.

It's the other way around. A Strat neck will fit a Tele pocket, but not vice-versa. Tele necks and pockets are square at the heel, while Strats have a radius to them. The radius in a Strat pocket will prevent a Tele neck from seating back as far as it needs to. Not by much - it's probably only 1/8" to 3/16" - but it's enough to prevent installation without relieving the pocket. If you go in the other direction (Strat neck on Tele body), the neck will bolt right on but you'll have some small clearances in the corners of the pocket. Usually don't notice them because of fretboard overhang.

Just to clarify, this body was built with a strat neck pocket, and warmoth is building the neck with standard 4-bolt mounting holes.

I understand. However, while the Strat and Tele both use the standard 4 bolt mounting holes on the same centerlines, the shape of the pocket is different and the Tele shape prevents a Tele neck from installing in a Strat pocket.

Certainly the difference of neck pockets exist and need to be known about.

I think however the OP is saying that the Tele body he has bought has a Strat neck pocket rout. Hence he has ordered a strat type neck.

Question: didn't warmoth used to offer a tele deluxe headstock? I'm unsure about what to go with. Pre-CBS or regular tele?

The W deluxe bodies are cut for strat necks, and there are currently 3 pages of large headstock CBS necks in the showcase.
Modern, vintage modern, and 24 3/4 conversions...

Showcase necks are almost always 10-16, which I'm not particularly fond of. Straight 12" radius for me. I have one on order now. Roasted maple, wenge select board, cream dots, cbs headstock, ss105 frets, 59 roundback. I think it's gonna be a good one.

Freaking USPS... The pickguard is the last piece that I'm missing before I'm able to put this guitar together (with a temporary neck) and it has been sitting in a USPS distribution center halfway across the country for a week. Literally seven days with no updates in tracking; it just says "arrived at origin facility." So infuriating. The same thing is happening with an unrelated purchase. Get it together USPS!

Got the pickguard today. Almost done getting it together.
