I was just looking around at amps i like, including Acoustic and noticed that 1) There are apparently two different Acoustics, and 2) The Chinese GC variant is coming out with new stuff, their Mark II variants. I wonder how the new Mark II's will be, especially considering I don't have the funds to grab a $5000 US made Acoustic amp. :rock-on:

Wow - you can find a USA-made Acoustic amp for $5000?  Even the "vintage" gear, while associated with Robbie Krieger's work with The Doors, and Jaco Pastorius's signature Weather Report-era tone, shouldn't be anywhere near that high.  I'd be curious to know what you're seeing at that price.

For what it's worth, Steve Marks and his dad, I believe, founded Acoustic in the 1967, and the company folded in the late early 1980's or thereabouts.  Steve Marks himself spent some time living in the Synanon community in the 1970's, and has gone on to own a litigation technology business.

The Acoustic brand was revived in recent years, although I have no idea whether Marks is involved, or if someone else bought the IP and other assets from him.

Okay, did a little more research, and I see there are USA-made Acoustic amps to be had for huge prices.  Dunno what to say except, the right price is what the market will bear.

If the Mark II Chinese models are gonna be on the floor at GC, well, hell, go on down, brave the teeming masses, and try 'em out.  Good luck!

That's the USA brand. I met the guy, whoever it was, at Summer NAMM. Old, pretty cool, reminded me of the EHX owner, who i also met. I play guitar, actually, but I've found a love for bass amps because they just seem to roar, i got the strangest looks hooking up an SG to one of those B810's.
