Hi and Help!

I'm building a dual Humbucker Warmoth Stratocaster with a 5-way blade switch, 1 volume control, and 2 tone controls. I'll be using TV Jones PowerTron and PowerTron Plus pickups.

[size=14pt]Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this configuration (using TV Jones PowerTron and PowerTron Plus pickups)?

I haven't been able to find a wiring diagram with this specific configuration using TV Jones pickups.  Unfortunately, TV Jones hasn't provided a detail wiring diagram for this configuration (I've asked),

Thanks for any help (diagram) that you can provide!!!

Did you get the two conductor or the four conductor? Either way they should wire up the same as other humbucker schemes.

There was a posting about wiring links that someone recommended be made a sticky but it never happened.  Look through this thread and you should find it.  I don't know if your particular question will be answered, but I suspect it might.

Viola!

Will that do ya'?

Thanks.

The TV Jones pickups have 5 wires.  The wire color coding appears to be different between the TV Jones and the SD pickups.  On the TV Jones, the green & red wires came sodered together and the black & bare wires came sodered together.

Per the SD diagram, do I just substitute the TV Jones green-red pair for the SD red-white pair, and the TV Jones black-bare pair for the SD green-bare pair???  Please educate me!

Thanks,
Allen

Yes.  :icon_thumright:

I'm confused again.
I just looked at the TV Jones web site and there is mention of for standard series humbucking  "connect red and green and tape off, white is hot.."

what's to be confused about? black came soldered to the bare wire, the bare wire is always grounded, it sheilds the other wires and conects to the cover and backplate sheilding the pickup, white is the hot and the red/green wires are the series link, running the link to hot will turn on one coil only. running the link to ground while white is switched on shorts out the other coil.

in the most basic wireing schemes the link is taped off and the pups always use both coils, running the link to the switch in various ways can give more options with minimal extra wireing. the statment on the web site gives guidence for a simple schematic for those with less experience while giving just enough info for an experienced repairman to figure out the color code. it is not meant to prohibit you from soldering the red and green wires to the switch.

I talked to Tom at TV Jones, and here's the wire color conversion for using the TV Jones PowerTrons pickups per the Seymour Duncan wiring diagram:
- TV Jones RED wire = Seymour Duncan BLACK wire.
- TV Jones BLACK wire = Seymour Duncan RED wire.
- TV Jones GREEN wire = Seymour Duncan GREEN wire.
- TV Jones WHITE wire = Seymour Duncan WHITE wire.
