Hi all, not sure where to post this...I've built a couple Warmoth Teles, awesome quality.
Looking at a Mooncaster now.
Thing is I want this to have a vibrato/trem arm on it.
Being a carve top, Bigsby B5's come off the body carve quite a bit.
I have seen a Youtube of a Reissue Starcaster with a Les Trem II on it - looks ok.
Any other options?
My favourite trem is a Jazzmaster style - maybe a Mastery? Now sure how flat that area is on the Mooncaster though.

Any trem ideas?
Any one with a Mooncaster that could take a profile shot of that bridge area where the Jazz trem would go...I'd very much appreciate it!

Thanks!

That FRX looks pretty bad-ass actually. I loath LPs, SGs, etc., but quite a cool part if a tad on the expensive side!

I didn't notice the price but it does seen like a cool part for G style guitars without any mods.

They're running between $400 and $600 list. I haven't seen one retail yet, so I don't know street price.

They have one here http://www.gak.co.uk/en/floyd-rose-frx-series-nickel/100998

At that price it better do a good BJ too.

Compared to the price of what the Floyd Original is going for in The UK it's not over the top but it isn't pennies either.

Still if I had a 59 and didn't want to drill holes and wanted a tremolo on it that's the piece to get :-)

You could try a Stetsbar, Kahler makes a TOM/stop model (which would require extra routing), or maybe also could install this vibrola style thing for a really wacky look, though that would leave the stop tail holes. You could maybe call W to have them omit those holes, but there's a chance that vibrola wouldn't work on a carved top anyway.

Were I in your shoes, I'd go for the Les Trem II - it's simple & classy looking.

Because it's an offset and carved top body, there's lots of cool trem/tailpiece units that won't be options, alas.
