It is true. Every time I play my burnished roasted maple neck I get all stoked at how smooth it is. Makes me happy I stumbled on Cagey's tutorial and followed the advice.
You're welcome. But, really, it was Tonar and Updown that turned me on to that procedure. I just wrote it up after trying it on for size. So, credit where credit's due. I also have to thank them again for showing the advantage of it all. I've turned out some fantastic necks since then. I've always done great fret work (if I must say so myself), but you add the burnishing to the equation and you get a neck that's just glorious.
