neck wood stripe

i was wondering about the skunk striping on vintage modern necks

and got to thinking about wether or not they just match the fretboard



let's say a purpleheart board a wenge neck
would you get the purple skunk stripe too?

that would REALLY add to a cool concept i've been brainstorming

I think the standard "skunk" wood is walnut, however I've seen others in showcase necks, canary for example. So I reckon you could probably order anything,within reason. You would probably have to pay an upcharge  :dontknow:
 
I just wish that Warmoth will add a fake skunk stripe to a pro neck however (for an upcharge of course) because I think they look really good. You know like a 1/8 inch deep route that is filled with the stripe on the back...

You know, it's strange, because I'm pretty sure Fender's standard skunk stripe is rosewood.
