Neck Screw Depth

Hi all, 
In process of a strat project and just got a modern construction neck.  I had a pack of fender neck screws laying around so didn't buy the ones from Warmoth.
As i was ready to attach neck i realized ,  i should probably see if i can find out how deep the screws should go into the neck.  the fender screws i have measure  14.08 mm past neck pocket.  I figured the chances are this is fine but i have leaned the hard way to take your time and double or triple check if your not sure.

Thanks in advance for anyone who might have some insight about this.

Since the pilot holes in the neck are predrilled it's a matter of just putting a toothpick in them, mark the toothpick and then measure it.
That's what I did to make sure that the screws I had wouldn't crack the wood when driving them in.

Right.......  Thanks for the reply Logrinn.    That seems quite obvious now that you mention it.  Perhaps its time for another cup of coffee.
