Thanks guys. I have always had issues with gold hardware and tended to stay away from gold plated items. This build will have gold and black Sperzel tuners, Stetsbar tremolo and (don't know the name) control knobs from Stewmac. Still trying to decide what the colors for the body will be.

That would be an eye catching finish for sure. I've been using penetrating oil on some repair jobs lately and like the final look.
color will be from Transtint dyes then the penetrating oil as a finish. This is a body I've been using to experiment on with dyes and body contours. It's a Basswood squire vintage vibe strat body with the factory paint and finish stripped off. The colors are Dark mission brown and honey amber from transtint. It has 4 coats of the penetrating oil.
