No, I grew up in Buffalo and moved to Pittsburgh after 12 years in the Washington DC area. I graduated in 1980 so you don't seem so old to me :-\
Thing is though, I can't find any sign of graduate Gene Frenkle in the 1988 CV yearbook... darned odd!
