If the neck pocket is routed to 2 deg, you shouldn't need any shim...

yes the neck-pocket is angled.. it make the tremolo floats.. now how to make the tremolo sits flush to the body..?? SHIMS..??

actually.... you need to 'unshim' it, if you want it to be flush with the body... sorry dude.

Thats all, from what I read?

well... you need a shim of you have a 'straight' angled neck, so, if you wana have the bridge flush with the body (so, pull up is not possible), you need to unshim it. but if you have an angled pocket, you can't unshim it, so you're screwd. or you need to set it up very strangely with high action and stuff...

I have a recessed floyd, with no angle in the neck pocket, i'll still be able to do pull ups?

According to the info on the Warmoth site, even a flat mounted Trem will still need the shims (or routed neck pocket angle).

Top Mounted Floyds must have angled neck pockets.

Recessed Floyds do not need an angled neck pocket.

All carved tops need to be recessed rout, no level surface for base plate of Floyd to sit on.

BTW for those looking to shim in the future, don't shim it exactly like that pic.  Use a full pocket shim that looks like the long red ramp in the image.  Otherwise over time that shim (and the associated air gap it creates) will be clamped into the neck causing a hump at the heel (otherwise known as a rising tongue).  Then its high action and buzz city without fret work.

If you look at the Warmoth site where it talks about bridge options, it is required to have a small degree of neck angle even for a flat mounted trem.  The picture you have posted s distorting what you will actually have based on the lack of scale.

i know.. and YES i have angle neck pocket... but STILL i have to RAISE the bridge to make it works.. i cannot set it flush to the body..

Warmoth employee say different.

Not trying to be argumentative here, just trying to help.
