??? Natural Masked Binding with Standard Binding???

I'm with you, Dog, on the maple neck not being quite right on a G****n style guitar (HI, Doug :glasses9:). If Warmoth will do the natural binding for you, that's obviously the answer, but if they won't/don't, check out the 'ivoroid' option; it's got just a bit of grain running through it (although nobody's gonna mistake it for wood-grain), and the color is a bit warmer than the cream, a little more of a tan tint to it. I can't imagine that that could be bad with your natural body binding.

Of course, you could have Warmoth do the binding (I've seen it; they do good work), but I was under the impression you didn't want any of the offerings they had.

I am sorry if I did not make myself clear.  I would be fine with Warmoth doing the binding.
I am questioning how the regular binding, be it white, cream or ivoroid, would look with the natural masked binding.  I wish they would do a natural masked binding on necks.
Additionally, I have checked into the cost of a fret job related to having custom inlay work.  In my area it is around $250 which is a lot to add to the cost of a neck.

Check the web for some pics of PRS DC58 or SC58 or similar models. They have a natural binding for the body combined with a white neck binding.

Certain years of ESP Ltd. H-301 guitars have the natural body/white neck binding, but I couldn't find any good pics of it last night  :dontknow:

Hey Guys,

Thanks so much for your thoughts regarding this project.  I have found an alternative if the big W will not do a natural bound neck.
I was looking at necks over on the SoulMate website and Doug has something very similar.  I have seen several SoulMate necks on this forum and they always look very nice.
Would be my second choice next to Warmoth.  So, I will post some pics when I get a little further along.
Thanks again!
Peace &  :rock-on:

Wow, that neck with the wood binding is really cool.  I know Attila does quality work!  He really did a nice job on TeleBomb.
I will definitely give him a call.  Do you have one of his necks???
