So this was the body I made myself last summer

This is the showcase neck I got for it

It looks very nice on there.
Is this a fitment before finishes?

Yep, wanted to be sure the bridge and neck would line up, they did! Guess I'm not that sloppy after all :)

WOW

I just had to go & have some sex  :icon_jokercolor: after looking at that

Looking Great  :icon_thumright:  Love it !!

Your game standing it behind a door, that could be opened onto it  :toothy11:

Lol, thanks!

That door hides the washer and dryer so I felt confident ;)
Didn't realize until I had the neck on that you can't just rest an offset guitar against the wall or an amp, it wants to fall over! Guess I'll have to buy a new guitar stand just for this one (my other stands only hold the bottom of the guitar, this needs to be held by the head, like an Explorer)

It's amazingly comfortable to play sitting down though.

Yep sure would be comfy  :icon_thumright:
Here's what I use, stand wise .... http://www.herculesstands.com/guitars/GS412B.html

Wow that is amazing!

Any details on how you made the body?

I don't know if I'm allowed to link to another forum... but I documented the whole thing on a certain Telecaster-oriented forum. If you look for "Lestercaster Thinline Build Thread" you'll find it (you can just Google that actually). Took a lot of time, but I learned a lot... like the fact that african mahogany is a pain to cut!

Note that the construction type is very different from a real Starcaster (which is real semi-hollow while this is a chambered construction, like a Thinline), the shape is also different: it's longer for better balance when standing up. It ends up looking a lot like a jazzbass. And the top is just a slab (carving it was a bit above my abilities for this first build).

I'm moving into a house this summer and after being done with all the reno work, I do plan on making a real "semi-hollow" Starcaster clone. Should be a fun project!

Very, very cool  :headbang1:

I just went through your thread at TDPRI and I am impressed with what
you have created with a minimum of equipment.  It gives me hope that I might
be able to do a from scratch build.

Keep up the good work and I will be watching to see this girl finished.

That looks great :icon_thumright: I think a nice acoustic looking aluminum strat bridge would look great on that....help to take up some space :cool01:.....just sayin

Haha, I told you man, I WILL buy one, the question right now is "when"... I have limited gear budget with the house purchase

scartozi, it's a great looking guitar in your signature. it looks so.. wild!  :rock-on:

sorry guys, i didn't find the appropriate topic to give my impressions about it ;)

And so it is done...

Sounds glorious (pickups are Tonerider Rocksong), but so far not digging the feel of the guitar. It's big (19X14) and heavy (10lbs), which are two things that don't bother usually, but it's the first time I get both at the same time. Plus the 2" thickness with no contouring at all and a non-raised bridge (like say a TOM) makes it a bit uncomfortable to play.

I may try and get a slight carve in the top since it's 3/8" thick anyway

But it looks and sounds really cool!
Got that snappiness and touch sensitivity mixed with the thick tone of a Gibson

psh, if it's too heavy and uncomfortable for you to play, I SUPPOSE you could twist my arm to take the burden from you... ;)

seriously though, that is KILLER!  :occasion14:
