My neck cant sit on its heel butt on the neck pocket?

Yea! I think that's the problem right there:  strat neck heel in a tele pocket.  Don't sink the cue ball!

In your OP you say that it's a Strat style neck, but what style of body is it? Judging by the picture the gap is the type you would get if fitting a Strat neck into a Tele body. In other words, the end of the neck is curved rather than square to the sides. But the neck pocket does not match this shape, it being more like a rectangle with curved corners. Or, am I seeing the pic wrong?
Exactly my first thought when I seen the pic, wrong neck heel in wrong type neck pocket..i.e strat to tele = no way jose.... :dontknow:

If it was a Strat neck in a body with Tele neck pocket it wouldn't be a problem, according to the Warmoth FAQ.

To me the pic looks more like a Tele neck, but I could be wrong.  Judging by the pic I don't think its really acceptable as it the guitar will lack stability of the neck mounting.    It will affect the tone, and could impact the tuning stability.    We need to confirm the specification of the neck and body, before we can properly understand what has happened.

Oh that is correct, I had it bassackwards...

This is what a strat neck looks like mounted in a tele body. It's normal. It doesn't affect stability or tone. It doesn't cause tuning or intonation problems. It's just the way they fit.
If the OP posts back again we can find out if this is what he's describing. So far the only problem that has been mentioned is the gap itself. Which, if it is the same as this, is no problem at all :icon_thumright:

My latest build has a Strat neck in a Tele pocket. It intonates fine and there are no tonal issues. I just cut the pickguard to fit the neck to hide the slight gap on each side.

Here's the neck heel mockup in the body for reference.

Even if I hadn't fit the pickguard to the heel, the fretboard extension would cover that anyway.

There ya go. That's a much better picture to illustrate the idea. If this is what's going on, no problem. But to be sure we need more info from the OP. As Sherlock Holmes always said, "It is a capital mistake to theorize with insufficient data".
