My latest Gecko project (yeah, that's right, another one)

So this new Gecko body showed up at my house today:

Here are the specs:  Gecko 5 medium, one-piece "unique choice" flamed maple top and a poplar body core, with a green dye finish on the front and transparent green finish on the back.  They did an outstanding job on the finish, especially the very subtle burst which comes around the edges at the front.

I ordered this with a single "jazz" bridge pickup route, so I can test several pickups in this shape.  At some point I will probably expand this route to accommodate a Delano "TheXtender 5" oval-shaped humbucker (after I test out the other pickups, naturally).  The hardware will be chrome.

Thanks again to all the wonderful folks at Warmoth who make these fine bodies (and necks) as part of their everyday jobs.  I'm very pleased with the result!

they both look great... i've been scrolling up and back down the page for a little bit and honestly can say they both look amazing! i'm just glad it isn't my decision to make :icon_biggrin: i think i'd go with the first if a gun were put to my head. just sets the green off i think

I'm with Mr. Swear - they both look exceptional, and I'd hate to have to choose. Almost makes me wish I played bass so I could justify building one. I really like that design. If I ever join a band again, I'm going to force the bass player to build one. Then I'm gonna steal it. I'll be even happier if he uses the darker neck <grin>

Mmmm... tough to choose between those necks. Do you have a hardware color in mind? The canary would look great with black accents.

Oh, I don't know. It's not something that's offered on their online configuration/ordering site, so you'd have to call them. But, they can do a lot of things that they don't admit to out loud on that site. Since there's almost no such thing as "long distance" phone calls anymore, calling them is as easy as ordering a pizza from down the street. The folks there really know what they're talking about, and are quite helpful and friendly. It's not like calling Microsoft or the IRS, where they handcuff you and knock your teeth out as you hold out your hands to give them your wallet <grin>
