I've always thought an ash body-maple neck/fret board Jazzmaster would be cool...So I after a long time of seaching for the right parts at the right price, here it is...finished mock up before finishing...I'm gonna do an amber tint clear coat on it......

Very nice project and I am diggin' it...
I think the pickguard will look fine once you get a finish on that body.
What kind of P-90's are you using?
Welcome to the forum and be sure to keep us posted with new pics of your progress!

Hi Tralfaz welcome to the forum!

I think the amber tint body will go well with the pickguard you've posted up here.

Those pickups look like P90s done to look like Jazzmasters. What brand are they? Interesting.....

With the upper controls are you using the standard JM control set up, or going for something else?

I'm a huge Jazzmaster fan,so the cloth wiring is done in the traditional Jazzmaster way....The pick ups are Lollar Jazzmaster...I've never heard them but  the deal on them was to good to pass up..I really look forward to hearing them.

I've never tried lollar pickups myself but a ton of the people here on the forum approve.  :icon_thumright:

Well grain filling and final sanding is done so I'm ready to start the finish...I'm hoping for a look similar to this(maybe a slight bit more amber)This is just after I wiped it with napthe.

black covers, a rare thing on a jmaster

I like the pickguard, but wonder how good 'ol black would have done

Here is how it looks after the final sand/sealer coat..I'm actually impressed with myself..Next is the Amber tint nitro....

This is how the neck looks after two coats of Amber nitro...

Just applied the decal...Was kinda nervous doing it as it's a little bigger than the one on my other JM,plus the headstocks are not the same size.I think it turned out pretty good.

The pickguard is not set in stone. If this one doesn't work out black would probably be my next choice..Total 70's look

I got the Lollar pick ups from a guy over on HC.

Needs a gold anodized pickguard with those black pickup covers. Really sweet guitar!

I'm just waiting for the nitro to cure now..Prolly another two weeks...I fit the neck to the body and set the pickguard on to see how it looks....I'm thinkin it looks pretty good, but I'm always open to suggestions.

I'm still thinking a black pickguard would look great on there. Perhaps matte, I'm not sure.
