My first Warmoth build.
Specs:
Body: Swamp ash (showcase body), chambered
Neck: from a strat copy, maple/rosewood, going to replace this with a warmoth neck at some point
Bridge: Wilkinson VS-100
Pickups: Lundgren P-90's (http://lundgren.se), hand-wound pickups
Wiring: 5-way (neck, both in series, both in parallel, both in parallel out of phase, bridge), 1 volume, 1 diy no-load tone
There is only one coat of danish oil now. I'm waiting for some better weather to put more coats (as many as I have the patience for). I was going to fill the grain by sanding while wet from oil, but I couldn't get the paste to form well enough and the grain looked actually pretty great unfilled. Could I do the grain filling (with the dust + oil mix) next time (if I get proper sanding paper)?
While planning I thought the black pickup covers would look great, but now I'm not so sure (maybe the hardware should be black also). I would actually like them to be matte. Would some steel wool work for that?
The neck is something I had laying around. It is pretty good, but the nut is crap. I was thinking of getting a neck from Warmoth as soon as I have money. I was thinking of ebony fretboard (as black as I can get), canary or maple neck.
Anyways I think it looks great even now and sounds great.
