Hi everyone. A friend from another forum told me he was building a sick telecaster with Warmoth parts and he got me thinking, this would be fun! It's my first build and I decided to do a Thinline. I figured I'd do a thread showing the progress and I hope lots of you can throw some tips my way, just in general. I only have basic tools like a screwdriver, cordless drill, and allen wrenches. I can't solder to save my life. So needless to say, I will most likely take it to a luthier after all the parts come in. I'll do as much as I possibly can on my own.
The body.... it came like this - ash, clear coat.
Then after much self debate, I decided on a neck. All rosewood, unfinished, thin standard carve, 10-16 compound radius, 6105's. It feels great!
Then I had to figure out what else is going to go on this beauty. I put a Bareknuckle Nailbomb in another guitar and that gave me a warm fuzzy about Bareknuckle pickups. I went with them again, ordered up a set of Country Boys. They sound bright and clear from the clips I've heard, which should be nice to balance out the semi hollow body and rosewood neck.
I don't feel like dealing with string trees, so in come the Sperzels!
Then for the bridge, I figured I shouldn't mess around. The Glendale double cut vintage stainless steel bridge plate and Glendale "Twang" saddles should do me right. The E/A saddle is aluminum, apparently it's recommended for big string sets. I plan on stringing this thing up with 11-52.
I put it on to see how it looks. boom.
Anyway, that's it for now. I can't wait to get this guitar done. I'll keep the updates coming, and ultimately clips and video.
