..and it's not on a Clapton record. For me, The Pro's and Con's of Hitchhiking is one of the most under-rated albums ever. This is magic, I so want this tone. Solo starts at 2:18.

EC is in a lot of songs on this album.  I agree that is in a very under-rated album, but I like because of how EC plays in it more than wanting to listen to RW sing.

Agreed. I like the concept too. It's only a 45minute album but it all kinda blends into one sorta thing. EC plays some really cool slide Dobro on this album too.

I think I mentioned that solo in one of the "Fav Solo" threads. I am not much of a Clapton fan, but he rocks the snot out of that lead.

I think you can get real close to that tone with a Vintage Tweed Champ and a good Strat.  You would be amazed at how much Tweed Champs sound like that and how much EC recorded with them.  There have a very unique sound.

"Cliffs of Dover" is one of my all time favorite songs. reminds me very much of Joe Satriani's "Summer Song." just makes me think of summer and great weather :icon_biggrin: no matter how cold it's getting now.
