I just wanted to share the knobs I machined for my current "SuperStrat" project. I think they turned out pretty cool! A light press fit on the 1meg split long shaft pots for the Lollar DB humbucker with an M3 set screw to wedge into the split. I might end up trying to polish the alu-minium (😁) to more closely match the rest of the chrome hardware.

The bowl looks a little small…….

Those look great ! I like the brushed look, but if they need to match polished would be cool too.

I was at a Rockler woodworking store recently to get some Mixol dye and other things. Your knobs reminded me of a neat thing that one of the guys working there did with an item that he scroll sawed a designed into. He mixed a bit of dye along with some epoxy and filled in the voids, really packed it in there, then wiped off the excess. When it dried/cured, we wet sanded/polished and when it was completed as he held it up to the window and let the light hit it, is shone through with his tint.

I wonder if this might inspire similar experimenting with the cutout areas of these knobs where you might achieve a similar aesthetic effect.

Just a thought. Beautiful work there sir.
